The Backpack Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that packs backpacks with food, clothes, and toiletries and hand-delivers them to people experiencing homelessness.
Impact
Over this semester, The Backpack Project (TBP) team built upon their positive impacts from last semester. They facilitated multiple gently-used backpack donation drives with other campus organizations with unique incentives. The team also researched and reported on the logistics of backpack item refills with the most used items within their backpacks given to homeless communities. Lastly, they researched and reported on recycling options for unused cardboard boxes that TBP receives their items and donations in.

Restaurant & Bar
Paloma Park is a restaurant and bar located in Athens, GA. Paloma has elevated street fare, creative cocktails, a premier wine selection, diverse beer selection, and a lively atmosphere.
Impact
This semester the Paloma Park team worked hard to implement their research and suggestions from the previous semester to tangible changes. The team introduced specific plant and potting suggestions for the vegetation wall along with an in-depth irrigation plan. In addition, they conducted further research and introduced plans to improve insulation throughout the restaurant and participate in commercial composting.
